We are Black Warrior Martial Arts and Fitness, Bishamon Arena Dojos. Our style of Martial Arts, is taught by Dai Sensei Gennaro Arena and his teacher's aid Sempai Kari Pedersen. This great style of Karate (AndersonBushikai) incorporates traditional Karate with a freestyle approach. Self defense is another benefit in aiding adults and children of all walks of life to feel confident in their surroundings and confident in knowing that they are able to defend themselves if need be in any situation.
 
We opened our club in June 2009. We offer classes such as Karate for men, women, teenagers and children, focusing on Self Defense along with private, martial arts based, fitness sessions for everyone. Our club trains on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 730pm. 
 
Martial Arts is an invigorating way to not only stay in shape but to harness energies within ourselves that aid us in dealing with everyday issus in a calm and focused way, thus allowing us to create immense amounts of positive kharma. In the Bishamon Dojo at Black Warrior Martial Arts and Fitness we firmly believe that what you put in to your life and the energy that you put out in life has a profound universal way of coming back to you.
 
 
Training at Black Warrior Martial Arts teaches the importance of coordinated hand and foot work but also getting power from your whole body with the least amount of effort. Once harnessed, your skill can be extended into the use of weaponary. These weapons include the Bo, Tomfar, Numchuku and Kali Sticks. Each an extension of one's own body.
 
All classes offered are unique to the instructor's teachings yet all say the same thing - discipline and commitment give you freedom. Freedom to say this is who i am and i can achieve anything! These classes can include warm ups such as shadow boxing, skipping, shuttle runs, push ups, sit ups, squats and stretching to name a few. The main body of the classes can include personal space open air combat training, pad work with a partner, light sparring, kata practice (Martial Arts) and cardio workouts for example. Cool Downs often reflect what has been achieved during class, leaving you feeling sweaty, elated and yet extremely at ease with your inner peace. Thanks to Dai Sensei Gennaro's style of teaching, all classes have a beginning, a middle and an end that are tied together so that at the end of any session you are guaranteed to have learned something valuable.
